Blooming Marvellous!!!!

Things are progressing well at the at the Oxford Garden Plots  with many things starting to grow. The front public area has really blossomed and looks fantastic. Look at our regular updates page for news on grown produce. We are also planning a grand opening of the site with a special guest to officially open the site.  a big welcome to Jim Lockton who is our group spokeman and Gill Bradley our Front area co-ordinator. Jim will be the spokeperson for the plot holders and hill will be ensuring with the help of the other members that the front public area is well maintained and watered.

The Oxford Garden Project is a Kitchen Garden initiative set up by the Grove Residents Group and Gardening Club for the local residents surrounding the Ladbroke Grove/Portobello Road area in West London. From humble beginnings this once unused, derelict site has been transformed into a fantastic well needed amenity for local residents.

The idea behind this project is to unite the local community through small plots on this site. In collaboration with Local Group members, Groundwork London who work with the organistion MIND to cultivate the plants and funding from Notting Hill Housing Trust and Wref (Western Riverside Environmental Fund), the site looks amazing.
